I am broadly interested in the dynamics and evolution of tropical forests. This interest has led me to empirically study the ecology and biogeography of plants, and also to review some of the previous concepts and findings that have shaped our current interpretation of diversity patterns.
Funded by a Forschungskredit fellowship I recently joined the group of Evolutionary and Ecological Genomics at the University of Zurich to work on the molecular basis of the divergence in an Andean species complex formed by the palms Geonoma orbignyana and Geonoma undata.
